TRUSTED & TRANSPARENT

The Indigenous Tourism Destination Fund (ITDF) is administered by the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC). All contributions to the fund flow through ITAC for investment into infrastructure, labour, business development and marketing programs. ITAC provides the required accounting and reporting oversight to ensure that partners feel secure in knowing that their contributions are being used effectively and appropriately to support the growth of Indigenous tourism in Canada.

Flexible Contribution Models

ITAC works with each partner to establish a contribution mechanism that works for their individual business reality. This includes both the details of the consumer-facing contribution as well as the timing and frequency of contribution transfers to ITAC. All contributions are tracked and accounted for in the same manner, regardless of variation in the actual contribution mechanism.

Regular Reporting

ITDF partners can rely on regular reporting from ITAC that will indicate both the partner’s contributions, as well as overall contributions to the fund. Reports will be produced twice yearly in July and December, and will include information on where and how the contributions were invested.

Yearly Audits

A yearly audit of the ITDF will be conducted and the results will be posted publicly. This will ensure that ITAC is held to the highest level of accountability for the administration of the fund. All ITDF partners will receive a copy of the audit prior to its wider release.
